The Railsplitters
Jan/Feb 2018
Thanks to everyone who made The Railsplitters’ 2018 tour such a success
The Railsplitters are a modern acoustic five piece playing a unique blend of Americana, bluegrass and folk. Performing mostly original material, the band initially found recognition as winners of the prestigious band competition at Colorado’s Rockygrass festival. Since then their star has risen rapidly and they have toured extensively around the world, including well received UK tours in 2015 and 2016. The Railsplitters have recorded three acclaimed albums to date including 2017’s Jump In. The band’s music is a creative and modern blend of bluegrass and acoustic roots, underpinned by outstanding musicianship and songwriting. The line-up features Mississippi-born Lauren Stovall and her luminous vocals in the lead, Dusty Rider’s melodically intricate banjo, Peter Sharpe’s bluesy flair on mandolin, Joe D’Esposito’s ace fiddle playing and newest recruit, the ever-so-groovy Jean-Luc Davis on the double bass.
